In December 2006, a base leader in Zambia, Elizabeth Mbewe, died suddenly of a rare condition which could not be treated because of a lack of basic health care. She was a single mother of three and, among her many leadership responsibilities, cared for more than 100 orphans.

SUDHAKAR SIMEON, the Chief Functionary of YWAM India Trust and YWAM Chennai City Coordinator died the morning of January 9th, 2006 when his bike was hit by a truck on the National Highway. He was on his way back from a meeting in Hyderabad when the accident took place in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, about 4 hours from Chennai.

At 9:30pm on March 14 2004, Toni Viana was shot three times in the head in front of a church in Recife, Brazil where he was ministering with a group of DTS students. Incredible Toni survived the trip to the hospital where he was rushed into emergency surgery which lasted 6 hours. It was amazing that he survived the ordeal and was still clinging to his life.

Tony Lima, que murió de un ataque al corazón a la edad de 38 años, era el director sudamericano de Misiones Fronterizas, un líder clave en Brasil y que mobilizaba con gran eficacia a la gente para las misiones.

Tony Lima, a precious brother in the Lord, husband, and father of three died suddenly of a heart attack on January 3rd, at the age of 38. Tony served as Frontier Missions Director for South America where he lived in Belo Horizonte, with his wife Christine and their three children.
