Frequently Asked Questions

YWAM Memorial is a place of remembrance where any YWAM student or staff who has died while serving in YWAM or after their service, may be honored with a memorial page on this website.

Yes. Any registered user can create a new memorial page for a YWAMer that has passed away, that doesn't already have a memorial page on YWAM Memorial. If you wish to create a new page, please first make sure that there is not already a page for that person, Browse "Memorial" or search to make sure.

Please respect other peoples contributions and don't delete what they have written unless it is factually incorrect or inappropriate. You may edit other peoples contributions to fix spelling and grammar if you wish. The biography section is intended as a biography about their life, please leave personal messages for the comments section.

I you have a photo that you wish to upload to a memorial page, then you can either click on "Edit" or "Upload Photo" above the biography on their memorial page.

In the box marked "Upload Photos" select a file to upload, and click "Upload" to upload. Once uploaded a preview of the file will appear in the "Upload Photos" box. In order to save the photo, you then need to go to the bottom of the edit page, and click "Submit". If you fail to click submit, the photo will not be saved.

You can select to hide certain graphics in the site, which will improve you speed for pages to load.

To do so, simply:

  1. Click on "My Account Settings" in your "Toolbox" menu.
  2. Scroll down, there is a box entitled "Hide/Show content for faster page loading".
  3. In that section, deselect any of the options to hide those whenever you view a page.
  4. If you wish to see them again at a later date, simply follow these instructions again, and re-select each option.

If you wish to remain logged in each time you visit YWAM Memorial:

1. Click on "My Account Settings" in the toolbox menu.
2. Scroll down to the checkbox which states "Disable automatic logout after 1 hour inactivity"
3. Uncheck the checkbox if you wish to remain logged in.

Please Note: You are normally logged out after 1 hour inactivity to make sure that if you forget to logout after visiting YWAM Memorial, noone else can access the site under your name. If you are using a public/shared computer, we strongly recommend that you leave this checkbox checked.

There are measures in place to protect against spam and innapropriate content, but sometimes it wil get through.

If you find any spam or inappropriate content on a memorial page or a comments section, please help us out and edit/delete it (if it is in the biography section) and contact admin immediately.
